Keep the space. Change how it feels.
If your conservatory has become a room you avoid, the roof is a good place to start. A replacement roof can improve insulation, manage daylight and refresh the appearance, while retaining the existing structure where it is suitable.
We help homeowners choose between a tiled Ultraroof, a solid-and-glass Livinroof or a modern glazed system. The right answer depends on how you use the room, how much light you want and the condition of your conservatory.
Which replacement conservatory roof is right for you?
Three different approaches, with advice to help you choose the one that suits your home.
01 / TILED
Ultraroof
An insulated tiled roof with a plastered ceiling for a room that feels more like part of your home. Discuss glazing panels or roof windows to bring daylight into your design.
Best for a traditional roof finish and a cosy interior.
Combine insulated solid panels with shaped glass sections. A contemporary exterior and a plastered internal finish give you flexibility over where daylight enters.
Best for balancing insulation with carefully placed daylight.
Keep the bright, open conservatory feel with a replacement glazed roof. Compare solar-control and low-emissivity glass options for your room’s orientation.
Best when retaining an open sky view is your priority.
A dining space, a quiet place to read or somewhere for the family to relax: start with the room you want to use, then choose the roof that helps you get there.
Insulated roof options to help reduce heat loss
Glass placement planned around natural light
Plastered ceilings with lighting options
Finishes chosen to complement your home
Existing frames and support checked before work
Comfort depends on the whole room. We also discuss ventilation, glazing, heating and any improvements needed to the existing structure.
How much does a conservatory roof replacement cost?
Your fitted price depends on the roof’s size and shape, the chosen system, glazing, access and the condition of the existing conservatory. A simple lean-to and a large Victorian or P-shaped roof need different designs and amounts of work.
Ask for a written quotation that makes the scope clear: roof removal, new roof installation, internal finishes, electrics, any structural work and the approval arrangements relevant to your project.
Tell us what is not working with your current conservatory and what you want to change. We explain the roof options and arrange a survey.
02
Survey and written quotation
We assess the structure, take measurements and agree the design and scope. Any required repairs, approvals and finishing work should be clear before installation.
03
Installation and handover
The existing roof is removed and the new system installed to the agreed specification. We complete the agreed finishes and explain care and maintenance.

Need more than a new roof? If the walls, windows or layout need a bigger rethink, we can also discuss a conservatory refurbishment or a hup! home extension.
Can you replace the roof without replacing the whole conservatory?
Often, yes. We first assess the existing frames, walls, base and connections to the house. If they are suitable, a roof replacement can retain much of your conservatory. If repairs or new frames are needed, we explain these before you decide.
Will a new roof make my conservatory warmer in winter?
An insulated roof can reduce heat loss through the roof compared with an older glass or polycarbonate system. Overall comfort also depends on the windows, floor, walls, ventilation and heating. We look at the whole room when recommending a roof.
Will a tiled roof make the room too dark?
A solid roof changes the amount of overhead light. Glazed sections or roof windows can help, and their position matters for both the conservatory and the adjoining room. We discuss the layout and orientation during the survey.
Can you replace a polycarbonate roof with glass?
Subject to a structural survey, a new glass roof system may be an option. It is important to assess the supporting frames and the correct roof system rather than assume the existing roof bars can accept heavier glazing.
How long does a conservatory roof replacement take?
The programme depends on roof size, access, the weather and any work to the frames or walls. Plastering, electrics and decorating can take additional time. Your quotation will explain the scope and expected installation sequence.
What about planning permission and Building Regulations?
Approval requirements depend on your property and the proposed changes. Ask us to identify the checks needed for your project before work starts, including the structural assessment and any Building Control involvement.
