French doors in Wivenhoe
A familiar opening, made to suit your space.
French doors provide a paired entrance to the garden with a straightforward everyday routine. For Wivenhoe homes, we help select frame material, proportions and glass while allowing enough room for the doors to open properly.

Before you choose
Choose the active leaf deliberately
One leaf is usually used more often than the other. Its position should work with your route through the room, not simply follow the appearance of a catalogue photograph.

White uPVC French Doors in Brightlingsea
Our Brightlingsea installation shows white uPVC French doors fitted to a home. For your own opening, check the space for both leaves to swing, where furniture will sit and whether sidelights are needed. Include door restraints, threshold details and surrounding making-good in your specification.
This project is shown at its actual location as a reference for your Wivenhoe enquiry.

Three decisions worth getting right
02
Sidelights
Fixed glass beside the doors can help fill a wider opening while keeping usable door leaves.
03
Opening clearance
