Spectrum Glazing · The finishing touches

Window handle options

A small detail that makes a difference. Explore Fab & Fix inline, cranked, monkey tail and pear drop window handles, with colours to complement your home.

11 finishes · Inline design

Connoisseur inline handles

A straight, balanced handle with a clean appearance. A versatile choice for compatible casement windows, from simple white frames to coloured uPVC.

8 finishes · Left- and right-handed options

Connoisseur cranked handles

The curved lever gives your fingers more clearance from the frame. Left- and right-handed versions allow the handle to suit the opening direction of the window.

Black is shown as an ERA finish swatch. Availability can differ between left- and right-handed versions; we will confirm the correct option for your windows.

5 finishes · Heritage styling

Monkey tail handles

A curled end brings traditional character to cottage-style and flush casement windows. Pair with a matching decorative or operating stay where suitable.

Hardex Pewter is shown as the manufacturer’s finish swatch, rather than a photograph of the complete handle. Please ask us to confirm this finish for your chosen window and handle version.

5 finishes · Fab & Fix Tear Drop

Pear drop handles

A gently curved, rounded end offers a softer traditional look. This is the Fab & Fix Tear Drop range, also commonly called a pear drop handle.

Hardex Pewter is shown as the manufacturer’s finish swatch, rather than a photograph of the complete handle. Please ask us to confirm this finish for your chosen window and handle version.

Details worth considering

Choose the right handle for your windows

The galleries show the manufacturer’s colour range. Your final choice depends on the window profile, handle version, handing and spindle required. Spectrum will confirm compatibility and availability when preparing your quotation.

Match your style

Inline and cranked handles offer a simple finish. Monkey tail and pear drop designs add period detail to traditional and flush windows.

Coordinate the finish

Consider your frame colour alongside door furniture and other metal finishes in the room. Screens and lighting can change how colours appear, so ask about samples before deciding.

Check the specification

For an existing window, we need to check the locking mechanism, fixing centres, spindle length and clearance. A similar appearance alone does not establish compatibility.

Your window handle questions

What is the difference between inline and cranked handles?

An inline handle has a straight design. A cranked handle curves to one side, giving extra hand clearance; it needs the correct left- or right-handed version for the window.

Is a pear drop handle the same as a Tear Drop handle?

For the Fab & Fix range shown here, yes. The manufacturer calls it Tear Drop, while pear drop is another commonly used description for this rounded heritage style.

Can I choose any finish for any window?

Not every handle and finish is available with every window system. Tell us your preferred style and colour, and we will confirm the available specification before you order.

Can I add matching window stays?

Matching stays are available within the Fab & Fix heritage ranges. Decorative dummy stays provide the traditional appearance; operating stays have a functional role. We will check which is suitable for your window.
