Black Comp Door Aston installation in Chelmsford
A traditional entrance, thoughtfully updated. We replaced this home's pale green front door with a black Comp Door Aston Solid, finished with satin hardware and automatic slam-shut locking.
The brief was to keep the entrance in character with the street while bringing modern security to everyday use.
Before & after
A new door that belongs on this street
The original entrance had a pale green door, a small glazed panel and a weathered white frame. For the replacement, the homeowners chose black to complement the traditional look of the neighbouring properties.
The Aston Solid's two tall panels and smaller lower panels give the entrance a classic appearance. A white frame defines the opening against the brickwork, while the glazed panel above the door keeps light coming into the hallway.

Black with satin hardware
The black woodgrain finish works naturally with this home's brick façade and the neighbouring black door. Satin hardware provides a subtle contrast, with a low letterplate and an exterior without a lever handle keeping the panelled design clear.
Everyday security
Close the door. The locks engage.
This installation includes automatic slam-shut locking. The locking points engage as the door closes, with no need to lift a handle, adding security and convenience while preserving the traditional appearance.
