Sliding sash windows in Wivenhoe
Keep the vertical rhythm. Improve everyday use.
Sliding sash windows have a distinctive balance of top and bottom sashes. Our Wivenhoe guide focuses on retaining those proportions while considering modern frame options, furniture and manageable ventilation. The Wivenhoe Comp Door project began with an entrance that was no longer usable. For your own brief, separate essential improvements to operation and access from the colours and decorative details you would like.

Before you choose
Start with the meeting rail
The height of the meeting rail is one of the most noticeable details on a sash window. We consider it alongside sash horns, glazing bars and the width of the surrounding frame, rather than choosing each detail in isolation.

Sliding Sash Windows & Door in Brightlingsea
Our Brightlingsea installation shows sliding sash windows on a completed home. For your own specification, compare the meeting-rail position, glazing-bar pattern and horn details. Discuss access for cleaning and how the proposed units will fit the existing reveals before agreeing the order.
This project is shown at its actual location as a reference for your Wivenhoe enquiry.
