The brief
Mrs Bell wanted to replace an ageing conservatory with a larger, more flexible room alongside her bungalow. The aim was to enjoy an open layout without losing the option of privacy.
The design
The wraparound replacement is twice the size of the original conservatory. Internal doors connect it to the kitchen and lounge, while garden-facing bifolds and windows provide views outside. Five full-length glazed panels bring light through the tiled roof.
The result
Opening the internal doors connects the living spaces; closing them creates a separate room. This flexibility was one of Mrs Bell’s favourite parts of the finished design.
