The traditional lean-to DIY conservatory is by far the most popular self build conservatory style on the market. It is very practical in terms of furniture layout and also completely versatile as there is no limit to the width that can be created. The one draw back is the maximum projection of around four meters that is achievable with the standard roof system. This can be overcome by structural upgrades, like using bolster bars, but this defeats the cost effectiveness of this style of conservatory. As pictured above the roof pitch can be as low as 2.5 degrees or as high as 30 degrees.
Spectrum Glazing’s lean to diy conservatories are delivered free to Essex, London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Kent.
Spectrum Glazing use the K2 conservatory roof system on their DIY conservatory kits. The K2 Roof System combines a range of technical design features to provide a highly adapative and well tested product.
To remove the need for gallows brackets, and reduce installation time and cost. 14 different types of box gutter adaptors are available, offering the ability to neatly overcome the most challenging applications. Box gutters are available in 2 widths; 135 & 210mm, to allow for greater flexibility on site. The 210mm wide design can also accommodate two conservatories side by side with a single box gutter.
The eaves beam connector is designed to provide a strong structural connection. Able to accommodate any angle, it offers pre-set positions for inline coupling and angles of 90, 135 and 150 degrees.
The K2 end cap is highly distinctive, featuring an embossed logo for both the aluminium and PVC-U finishes.
K2’s unique pivoting glass paddle prevents slippage of glazing into the valley.
K2’s jack rafter system incorporates a strong, mechanical, fail-safe fixing. The jack rafter undercladding is machined to suit the hip, in order to maximise aesthetics and maintain decorative site lines.
A ball joint connection fully accommodates angular variation between hip and jack rafter and provides total design freedom. The user-friendly design improves both fabrication and installation times. Fewer components = less stockholding and less problems for both fabricators and installers.
Spectrum glazing’s complete self build DIY conservatories feature a frame system that is a unique combination of our exclusive K2 Konnect system and Synseal Legend profile.
The K2 Konnect System (often referred to as our Modular System) consists of especially manufactured conservatory frames/panels (now featuring the Legend profile) that utilise our exclusive frame connecting products, bringing unique installation benefits for both trade fitters and the DIY consumer.
The K2 Konnect system is only available as part of a complete conservatory, which will feature the standard K2 roof. The K2 Konnect frame system is not available on its own.
The Legend profile from Synseal offers an aesthetically pleasing sculptured look that replicates the look of traditional bead detailing on wooden windows. The system utilises ovolo beads on the internal side.
Legend windows and doors feature multi-chamber PVC-U profiles which help prevent heat loss. Legend also has two outer frame size options. This makes it one of the most comprehensive window suites available, perfect for both domestic and commercial applications.
Opening frames are weather-stripped and typically reinforced for added strength, coupled with increased thermal performance.
Glazing beads are typically fitted internally for extra security and 28mm thick insulated double glazed units are commonly fitted for thermal efficiency.
