The brief
William and his wife inherited a wooden conservatory that was difficult to enjoy in hot and cold weather. They wanted a more usable sitting room and a better entrance arrangement.
The design
The enlarged footprint combines a hallway and sitting area. A large lantern lights the flat-roofed space, while two sets of sliding doors frame the garden. Anthracite detailing contrasts with white render, and a planted feature wall separates the entrance from the garden.
The result
The replacement has become their main sitting area, bringing daily living closer to the Devon landscape.
