The brief

The Mortbys’ Victorian-style conservatory suffered from condensation, uncomfortable temperatures and a noisy polycarbonate roof. They wanted to keep its shape and preserve a recently installed floor.

The design

Their builder used the existing base for the replacement. The design pairs a hybrid roof with six glazed panels, floor-to-ceiling windows and bifold doors. A full-height wall helps the space function as a furnished room.

The result

The new room accommodates dining and seating areas overlooking the garden. The owners report using the dining space more often and finding it more comfortable throughout the year.
